Shed Envy: Charmaine’s Tuff Shed
You’ve heard of envy, but we’re here to introduce you to shed envy.
Shed envy /sh-ed en-vee/ n Your friend, family member, neighbor, dentist, dogwalker, etc. got a Tuff Shed, and now you want one.
That’s exactly what Charmaine experienced.
While her neighbor, Karen, got a brand-new Tuff Shed barn last fall, Charmaine got a textbook case of shed envy.
What did she do about it? She got a Tuff Shed of her own.
The Need for Outdoor Storage
Before Charmaine got her new Tuff Shed, her outdoor items were a little scattered.
“I have half of my yard stuff in the garage,” said Charmaine. “It’s a pain in the butt to take out my lawn mower or weed eater, go all the way around my house, and then use it on the yard.”
Not to mention repeating the process to put it back.
The other half of her yard items, the garden tools and planting supplies, live on the back patio. Long story short, she was ready to consolidate it all and put everything in one neat, organized space. (Perhaps, in a shed?)
The good news was that she had the perfect spot for a backyard building.
Charmaine recently had her house re-stuccoed and painted, and had a new concrete slab put in on the side of the building.
“It took me a while to figure out what to do with the space,” said Charmaine. “I kept thinking, ‘Do I need a shed?’ Well, yes! I have so much outdoor stuff and I need a place to put it!”
She spent three years contemplating whether or not to get a backyard building, but then…
Her neighbor got a barn.
Charmaine’s Tuff Shed

“Karen’s barn solidified my back and forth,” said Charmaine. “When you think of a shed sometimes you picture dingy and old school, but it’s beautiful! It’s a girl shed.”
(If you haven’t checked out Karen’s barn, you should. Charmaine is right.)
“After seeing Karen’s Tuff Shed, I was like yep. I’m doing it,” said Charmaine. “I deserve it!”
Goodbye shed envy, hello new backyard building.
Charmaine worked with our Denver team to design her own ‘girl shed.’
“I was very particular,” said Charmaine. “I wanted three windows, even though it usually comes with four. And I wanted a specific color. I had so many questions, but Tuff Shed was wonderful to work with.”
At the end of the day Charmaine went with an 8x12 Premier Classic Ranch in Olive Sprig with Black Magic trim. It features the three transom windows, along with a double shed door, pegboard, workbench, and the keyless handle upgrade. Plus, it matches her house!
“I can’t wait for the keyless entry,” said Charmaine. “I don’t know how many times we’ve locked ourselves out of the house, and I feel like I’m going to do the same with the Tuff Shed. Knowing that I can just punch in a code is going to make life better.”
Tot’s She Shed

Charmaine already has a name for her backyard building, “Tot’s She Shed.”
“When my dad passed away three years ago, my girls bought me a sign that says, ‘Tot’s She Shed’ because my nickname from my dad is Tot,” said Charmaine. “I’m so excited to finally have my Tuff Shed she shed and I can’t wait to hang this up. It’s like my dad’s with me too.”
What makes a Tuff Shed special is when a customer makes it their own, and Charmaine is doing that on day one. We’re honored to play a role in bringing Tot’s She Shed to life.
