Tuff Shed demonstrates its commitment to sustainability through key practices in quality standards and manufacturing processes, and its selection of partners, suppliers, and materials. We are proud that our products are American-made by teams of local carpenters and installers and we’re constantly looking at ways to innovate and improve how we impact the environment.
Louisiana Pacific® siding, trim, floor and roof decking makes up most of the sheet goods for our buildings. Their Sustainable Fiber Sourcing Policy means they maximize each tree they use with a focus on regenerative lumber. The majority of LP products are carbon negative meaning a brighter future for us all.
Tuff Shed buildings exclusively use low or even no Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Glidden paint, not only for their signature look, but also for their parent company's environmental dedication. PPG has already been recognized for their decarbonization commitment while with keen focuses on waste reduction while managing energy and water usage.
Our partners at GAF not only supply us with cost effective, high-quality and durable shingles, but do so with a focus on environmental impact. Their goal is to divert over a million pounds of roofing materials from the landfill annually by utilizing recycled materials in their asphalt shingles. Meaning you can feel good about how well your shingles protect your building while helping protect the environment at the same time.
We believe our sustainable mission truly begins with our industry leading products. Our buildings are created to be durable and long-lasting. We push back against the trend of the disposable alternatives that are meant to end up in a landfill as quickly as they are created. We only source materials from partners that live up to our high standards with sustainability goals that match or exceed our own.
Sustainability begins with the design process as each of our buildings are designed to maximize quality while minimizing waste. Using carefully engineered construction cut sheets and the latest in technology, like programmable saws, allows our local factories to use every piece of our materials to their fullest.
After a building is designed and carefully cut, typically an initial coat of paint is applied to exterior surfaces the old fashioned way, by hand rolling it on. That means no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are introduced into the air. Afterward each roller is processed to be reused multiple times.
Being American made and having pre-fabrication of our buildings at local factories across the country allows us to have single day onsite installation. Limiting the amount of vehicles we have on the road and our impact on the environment.
