Manuel's Man Cave

January 22, 2019|building of the month

It all started with a pool table. Manuel Maganalles’ grandfather first purchased the table but wasn’t able to use it, then it was passed to his uncle. When Manuel got it, he kept it in his garage, using a parking space as his man cave. Then, they moved into a new home and his wife kicked the pool table out of the garage. Manuel decided it was time to get a real Man Cave in the backyard.

“That was actually part of the deal. Since we bought a house with a 2 car garage instead of a 3 car, I wanted to make sure we could put a shed in the backyard for the table,” says Manuel. Luckily, Manuel has been friends with Chris Powell, a long time Tuff Shed employee since high school. Chris has his own legendary man cave, which inspired Manuel.

Working with Chris, Manuel put together the perfect backyard retreat. The 19×19 Premier Pro Tall Ranch with a Clerestory roof was the ideal starting point for his vision. He finished out the interior and transformed his shed into an entertainers paradise. They even added attic space storage, making the most out of the upgraded roof pitch.

With all the finishing touches inside the man cave, it may surprise you to learn Manuel’s favorite part about the backyard space. “I really love the bathroom. It’s just a nice space and it’s made the man cave into an awesome place to host friends, without people having to run back and forth to the house. We’ve got everything in there.” Now that the shed retreat is finished, complete with décor, furniture, and a pool table as the centerpiece. “We’re ready and waiting for the first big party to break it in,” says Manny, “The space turned out great and it’s awesome to have it in the backyard.”
